Jenn's Bridal Shower
On Friday night a bunch of seminary girls got together for a surprise bridal shower for Jenn Clarke. It was a wonderul night, Jenn was totally surprised, and the chocolate fondu was delicious. We played games, opened presents, laughed, and yes even cried. We learned that 'sex happens', and in case of emergency you should always have your breath cleanser nearby- dispense mist!

Ora Et Eabora!
Latin, not something Im an expert in, however when reading Karl Barth's thoughts on prayer I picked up on this phrase, and immediately decided to keep it as a favourite. The phrase "Ora et eabora" literally means "pray and work" however Barth goes on to unload it's meaning in a much greater way. He says "The rule means, moreover, that the 'laborare' itself, as as such is essentially an 'orare'. Work must be that sort of act that has the manner and meaning of a prayer in all its dimensions, relationships, adn movements." This reading really struck me as important. Although I consider my work, difficult, I should also consider it a sweet offering to God.
Worship At Day Of Prayer
The Seminary Day of Prayer was held on October 27th. Students met in "the well" for a refreshing time of worship, prayer, communion, and cookies.
The day was divided up into section: worship, speaker, individual prayer time (praying through the Psalms), worship, small group prayer, worship, and communion. Although all students were not able to attend there was truly a blessing poured out on those staff and students in attendance.
LtoR, John on percussion, Meredith on vocals, and Kevin on vocals and guitar
